These buildings are built around their air handling, which makes HVAC scenting the default: the fragrance oil is converted into a dry micro-mist and distributed through the ducts already serving the space, giving even coverage across a large floorplate with no equipment in public view and no damage to the ventilation system.
Standalone diffusers are used for individual lounges, member rooms or leased areas that sit outside the main system or need to be controlled separately from the building at large.

Is a scent noticeable in a space that large?
It is, when distribution comes through the HVAC system rather than from point sources. The facility survey measures airflow so output is set for the real volume of the space rather than estimated.
Can one lounge be treated without the rest of the terminal?
Yes. If the lounge is served by its own zone it can be scented through HVAC independently; if not, standalone diffusers cover it on its own.
How is it serviced in a facility that never closes?
The only routine maintenance is replacing the oil bottle when empty, and service plans include on-site and remote maintenance with a guaranteed 24-hour response time, so visits can be scheduled around operations.
